How do I register for classes?

Go to our page. Drop in during classes (check our schedule page or phone 525.1000) to meet with the staff and take a look around. Choose your classes, fill out the registration form, pay your fees and you're in! If you're registering for intermediate or advanced classes, you will need to arrange an audition with the director or teacher to ensure that you're enrolled in the proper level of study.

Do I belong in a beginning, intermediate or advanced class?

Good question! Each dancer, each dance school is different. The best way for us to place dancers in the appropriate classes is for you to meet with the teacher. Since it's both frustrating and can lead to injury to dance at a technical level you're not prepared for, it's important for you and the rest of the class that every dancer to be placed at the appropriate level.

How old do you have to be to enroll?  How young?

We offer  classes for dancers age 3 through adult. There are special classes for the youngest dancers in Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Mexican Dance and Flamenco. All other classes are open to all ages, although teacher approval is required for advanced classes. Nobody is too old to dance! Many classes include adult students and there are several classes just for adults. Dancing is a great way to have fun and get a great workout at the same time. We even have several "just for fun" classes where students will not perform, so don't let a touch of stage fright keep you from dancing.

The exceptions are salsa and bellydancing, where students must be at least 15 years old.

I'd like to join one of your performing companies. What do I have to do?

We actually have several dance companies: the Senior Company (13+) and Las Americas (all ages), which includes Inspiracion Flamenca, a performing company for our youngest students.  Auditions are held twice a year. All company members must audition each time. The main requirements for the senior company are that you be skilled in various dance forms -- ballet, tap, jazz, flamenco, Latin -- and bring a professional attitude to your work. The Las Americas and Inspiracion Flamenca dancers perform Flamenco and other Latin dances. If you'd like to join either company, talk to a teacher about auditioning.
